Service for New Year’s Eve
During the evening of December 31, which is the eve of the Feast of the Holy Name and also the eve of the civil New Year, the following service may be used.
The rite begins with the Service of Light, page 109 of the Prayer Book, using the Collect for the First Sunday after Christmas as the Prayer for Light.
