Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols

The following bidding and lessons may be used at a festival held in Advent.

If the festival takes place in the evening, it may be introduced by the Service of Light (Prayer Book, page 109). The seasonal Lucernarium (page 12) or Psalm 85:7-13 may be sung during the candle lighting. After the Phos hilaron or the hymn sung in place of it, the service continues with the Bidding Prayer.
